Just the Basics

Flights must come into either Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (airport code: FLL) or Miami, Florida (airport code: MIA)
Transfers are $29.60 pp round-trip from Ft. Lauderdale and $58 pp round-trip from Miami
1-night Pre-cruise hotel stay in Ft. Lauderdale starts at $97.03 pp (based on double occupancy)

Option #1

Book Royal Caribbean’s airfare

(includes your transfers and in some cases, an overnight stay).

Their airfare rates include your transfer from the airport to the pier the day of the cruise and your transfer from the pier to the airport after the cruise (a $29.60 pp value).  If Royal Caribbean cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 10/16/10, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in Ft. Lauderdale on 10/15/10. If you do have an overnight, you will also be provided with a transfer from the airport to the hotel. By booking their air, you won’t have to worry about a thing!

Call Cruise & Crop for an air quote.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 10/15/10.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through Royal Caribbean.

For $97.03 pp, you can stay at the Gallery One Doubletree in Ft. Lauderdale.  This would also include your transfer to the pier (but you’d have to get your own transfer from the airport to the hotel the night before). The rate and location may vary if you fly into Miami.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $14.80 pp.

Hotel rates are based on double occupancy.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 10/16/10.
Book Royal Caribbean Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the Ft. Lauderdale airport no later than 1:30 p.m. on 10/16/10 and leave no earlier than 11:30 p.m. on 10/23/10.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $29.60 pp. For Miami: Flights must arrive by 12:30 p.m. on 10/16/10 and depart after 12:30 p.m. on 10/23/10.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 10/15/10) and still purchase Royal Caribbean transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  The Ft. Lauderdale airport is only a few miles from the pier and taxis are readily available.

Option #4

Drive to the Pier

Parking Fees: $15/day for vehicles up to 20 feet in length, $19/day for vehicles over 20 feet
The total fee for the time the vehicle will be parked is due on entry.

Directions from Jacksonville: Please refer to your ticket packets for directions to the pier.

Please Note: The flights and hotels offered by Royal Caribbean can sell out. Do not delay in booking this portion of your trip. Call Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne to arrange these details.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Please take a minute to review the passport policy below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore. Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne highly recommends traveling with a passport!

AIR TRAVEL - U.S. Citizens
All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or other approved travel document when entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens can present a passport, NEXUS card at airports with NEXUS kiosks, U.S. military ID with travel orders, or a U.S. Merchant Mariner Document when on official business.

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL

The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

Beginning June 1, 2009

  •  U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents.
