Jump to the topic of your choice...

Just the Basics

Flights must come into either Houston Hobby (airport code:HOU) or George Bush Intercontinental (airport code: IAH)
Transfers are $30 pp each way ($60 round-trip) from HOU and $40 pp each way ($80 round-trip) from IAH

Option #1

Book Carnival ’s airfare

(Starting in 2010, transfers are additional)

If Carnival cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 11/13/10, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in Houston on 11/12/10. Transfers are additional.

Many air cities are available. Call Cruise & Crop for rates. Rates are subject to change.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 11/12/10.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through Carnival.

Call Cruise & Crop for current rates on 1-night pre-hotel options through Carnival. These rates would also include your transfer to the pier. Hotel stays must be booked before September 3, 2010. After this deadline, hotel packages may not be available.

Hotel currently being offered through Carnival:
1. Hotel Galvez $108 pp with a transfer to the hotel and then from the hotel to the ship.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $30/40 pp.

Hotel rates vary based on how many people are in the room. Rate quoted above is based on double occupancy.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 11/13/10.
Book Carnival Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the Houston airport no later than 1:00 p.m. on 11/13/10 and leave no earlier than 1:30 p.m. on 11/18/10.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $60 HOU or $80 IAH pp.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 11/12/10) and still purchase Carnival transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  Houston Hobby airport is approx. 45 minutes from the pier. Intercontinental Airport is approx. 1.5 hours from the pier. Visit http://www.portofgalveston.com/index.shtml for a list of Shuttles, Taxies and Rental companies. Cruise & Crop does not operate or control in any respect the services provided by these companies, nor does it guarantee their performance.

Option #4

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Please take a minute to review the passport policy below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore. Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne highly recommends traveling with a passport!

AIR TRAVEL - U.S. Citizens
All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or other approved travel document when entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens can present a passport, NEXUS card at airports with NEXUS kiosks, U.S. military ID with travel orders, or a U.S. Merchant Mariner Document when on official business.

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL

The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

Beginning June 1, 2009

  •  U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents.

For more information, please visit travel.state.gov

Shore excursions are available to be booked. Go to Carnival's website and click "My Cruise ". You will need to sign-in/register before you can purchase excursions or pre-register for your cruise. Excursions can be reserved online up to 10 days before your sail date (November 2, 2010). Classes will be held in the evenings and on the day at sea. Therefore, classes will not interfere with any shore excursions you may want to participate in.
